Its sad really when you think of it, just when the weather warms up and the fish are on the feed along come Novartis angling club and smash your reputation to bits, well that's what happed when they went to Whitmore, Ricky the fishery owner had said the last few matches you need at least 94lb to frame top weight 70 lbs with most catching ten for the numbtys.
Still Kevin Pohill put on a good show he drew peg 16 and did not fancy his chances so he decided to put a tackle show on. Now their is nowt wrong with being prepared for most eventuality but this was madness . first, 4 top sets 2 shallow 2 deep / pellet waggler / pellet feeder / method feeder set up two fly rods one sinking one surface, harpoon gun ,and 2 kilo of semtex and a partridge in a pear tree!!!!!! the all in went off and he was still tackling up 4 hour later!!!!!!!while all this was going on ,their was a peg to peg battle going on with Dave Ollie and Dave Wimperley fish for fish all through the match then with five minutes to go someone shouted the all out from another club match going on on a different lake. " its that the all out Dave " said Ollie being a bit deaf and and a bit thick "yes mate " said the wimp so Ollie starts packing up but the crafty bastard the wimp fishes on till fatty Weader shouts proper and beat Ollie by ounces,
oh! one more thing fatty Weader and steely have got through to the next round of the KO so if you take a look up in the night sky you will see Haley's comet it comes round every 70 years.
Keith willow drew a red hot peg and connected with one of Whitmore barbel now willow being a canal man he's not use to these big lumps never mind big barbel and l mean big ! even worst he hooked in the dorsal!!!!! still he had a good day he hooked it on the all in ,we all had packed in ,got to the pub had me tea then went out for a few pints got in to bed the phone rings cor!
