Originally founded in 2002 as Chiron angling club with approx. 6 lads working at Chiron vaccines, Speke, Liverpool, who used to chat over lunch about their own fishing exploits. In 2003 the lads got sponsorship from City Electrical Factors, Widnes, and started fishing for the CR Burgess sponsored trophy. These matches included selected guests and friends to keep the fun going on the day. This is how the club was born.
Since then the club has grown and has developed a successful league campaign with two divisions. Also along the way is a knockout cup, then a pair’s cup match to end the season.
The club prides itself on encouraging novice anglers, hence the two league divisions, most improved angler award and novice cup competition each year.
We now boast 26 members, 13 in each division.
We fish 8 league and cup matches per year and try to make the whole day a complete package including breakfast, evening meals and a two day event in the summer.
The club will continue to develop and we are looking to sustain our membership numbers through the winter to enable us to run summer and winter leagues. Our current goal is to enter the Maver club competition.
